Police seek relatives of blaze victim

POLICE are appealing for information to help trace the relatives of a man who died in a fire in a city high-rise – who has been named as William Hush.

Mr Hush, 54, was found in his home in Greendykes Road following Thursday morning's fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters pulled him from the burning flat in Niddrie after the fire broke out at around 1:15am, but he died.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Lothian and Borders Police are asking anyone who can assist with locating his next of kin to come forward.

Mr Hush was born in Edinburgh on 11 September 1955 and married in 1977.

He had no children from the marriage, but may have had a son from another relationship.
