Police search for student last seen two weeks ago

POLICE are investigating the sudden disappearance of a student who went missing from a University of Edinburgh campus nearly two weeks ago.

Christopher Knights has not been seen since his father dropped him off on West Mains Road at King's Buildings in Blackford shortly after midday on June 27.

The 25-year-old, from Buckstone, has not been in touch with his friends or family since 12.15pm that day.

This lack of contact was a cause for concern, and his disappearance was reported to police on Wednesday.

Mr Knights is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, with short dark hair, blue eyes and glasses.

When he was last seen by his father he was wearing a black suit, white shirt and a black or grey tie. His left arm was in a plaster cast.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said that Mr Knights' disappearance was completely out of character.

He added that if he is staying with friends of family somewhere to let officers, or his parents, know that he is safe and well.

The spokesman said: "Christopher's disappearance is completely out of character, and his parents are understandably very upset and concerned.

"We are eager to speak to anyone who may have seen him after 12.15pm on Monday, 27 June, and would urge those with information as to his whereabouts to contact police immediately.

"Similarly, we would also ask Christopher to make contact with family, friends or police to let us know he is safe and well."

Anyone with any information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131-311 3131.
