Lybi Halliday was thought to be heading to Glasgow Central station to catch a train home to Hamilton following a night out in the city.
It has been reported that she was approached by unknown man – described only as wearing a distinctive brown coat – in the Trongate at around 11:30pm. The alarm was raised when she failed to arrive home safely or make contact with friends and family.
Lybi is described as white, 5ft 3in to 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with long dark hair tied up in a ponytail. She was wearing a dark green checked shirt with a white crop top tied in the middle, baggy blue ripped jeans, sunglasses and was carrying a small black handbag.
Sergeant Louise McLenaghan, Hamilton Police Station, said: "Lybi was last seen in the Trongate, Glasgow City Centre around 11.30 pm and was believed to have been making her way to Central Station to get her train home, however, she didn't arrive home and so her family called police.
"We would appeal to anyone who may have seen her or has any information on her whereabouts to get in touch with police via 101. Please quote reference number 1136 of 1 May, 2021, when calling.
"We'd also appeal to Lybi herself to get in touch with police or her family who are concerned for her well-being."
