Police search for killer after body is found in Glasgow close

POLICE in Glasgow today launched a murder investigation after a man's body was found in the corridor of a block of flats.

The discovery was made at in a block flats in Craighill Road, Port Dundas, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and more than 10 officers searched the area surrounding the flats yesterday.

Police confirmed that the death was being treated as murder following a post mortem.

Detective Chief Inspector David Gailey, of Strathclyde Police major investigation team, said: "Inquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death of this man.

"Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries in the area and studying CCTV footage in an effort to gather further information.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Craighall Road on Sunday April 11 between the hours of 11pm and 12am and may have witnessed the incident take place, or anyone with any information relative to the investigation, to come forward and assist with our inquiry."
