Police say assault is attempted murder

A 41-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital with a head injury after being seriously assaulted as he walked along a busy road.

He was in Causeyside Street in Paisley near the junction with Stow Brae when a man got out of a silver car and attacked him.

The attacker then got back in the car and it drove off at about 4:25pm on Monday.

Strathclyde Police said the assault was attempted murder.
