The woman was sexually assaulted in “The Woodies” area, near the city’s Broomhill Terrace, on Wednesday 11 December.

The man being sought is described as aged between 20 and 30, 6ft tall and of medium build. He has a chiselled jaw, and was clean shaven with short brown hair.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said “The jacket was left behind following the incident and is a khaki canvas style jacket, size medium. The jacket is ‘George’ clothing brand from Asda. At the time of the attack he was wearing a white and yellow short sleeved, striped polo shirt, blue jeans and a jacket identical to the one in the image.”

Detective Constable Kirsty Munro said “I would urge anyone who recognises the description of this male or the image of the jacket to make contact with the Police and pass on their details. It may be that you know someone who once had the jacket but doesn’t anymore.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
