Police release picture of man wanted in connection with Glasgow murder

POLICE in Glasgow have released a new image of a man they want to trace in relation to the murder of Waquar Shah.

The 42-year-old's body was discovered in a flat on Pollokshaws Road in the Shawlands area of the city on April 1.

Strathclyde Police say they are keen to speak to Israr Ali in connection with the death.

The 35-year-old, who was last spotted in Stoke-on-Trent, is around 5ft 10in and has a slightly receding hairline.

Detectives say Ali, who goes under several aliases, is dangerous and

should not be approached.

Detective Inspector Sam Carson, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We are extremely anxious to trace this man in connection with the investigation. We have information to suggest he has travelled extensively throughout the UK since April 1.

"It is vital that anyone who knows his current whereabouts contact us as soon as possible. Do not approach this man as we believe he is dangerous."
