Police probe street attack

Police have launched an investigation into a serious attack on a man in Stirling in the early hours of yesterday.

The 20-year-old victim, who has not been named by police, has been receiving treatment in hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

Detective Inspector Ronnie Isles, of Central Scotland Police, said: "We are treating this incident as attempted murder and we appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

"The victim was taken to hospital and where his condition was described as stable."

The attack happened at about 4am in Drip Road in the Raploch area of Stirling.
