Police probe as train conductor racially abused

Police are investigating after a conductor on a train from Edinburgh was racially abused.

The incident happened as the train travelled between Markinch in Fife and Dundee on Saturday October 18.

The suspects are a woman described as having blonde hair and a man wearing a light blue top.

Police appealed for information about the incident on the 10.09pm Edinburgh to Dundee service, which left Markinch at 11.03pm and arrived at its destination at 11.44pm.

Constable Lynda Casey of British Transport Police said: “This sort of abuse is unwarranted and rail staff or passengers should not be subjected to it.

“Anyone who was on the train or at the stations and has information regarding the identity of the man and woman is urged to contact BTP.”

Other passengers also heard the abuse.
