Police plea over missing boy, 14

POLICE are trying to trace a 14-year-old boy missing from his home since yesterday.

Michael Smith was last seen by a friend at the railway station near his home in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, about midday.

The teenager, who is originally from Dundee, may have been heading there, police said. He is known to have friends and relatives in the Tayside area.

Michael is about 5ft 2in and has brown hair with highlights. When last seen, he was wearing a black Helly Hansen jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
