Police plea for missing man, 43

POLICE trying to trace a man who has been missing for more than a fortnight said yesterday that there are now “serious concerns” for his well-being.

Steven Hope, 43, from Peebles, in the Borders, was last seen at around 9pm on 24 August in the Greenside area of the town. Since then he has not made any contact with family or friends.

Lothian and Borders Police said it was out of character for him to be away from home for such a length of time without getting in touch with loved ones.

The force yesterday issued a fresh plea for information to help find Hope, who also has family connections in Edinburgh and West Lothian.

Anyone who believes they may have seen him is being urged to contact the police.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build and clean-shaven complexion. He has green eyes and a celtic tribal tattoo on his back between his shoulder blades.

He also has an eight-inch skin graft on his right arm and speaks with a Scottish accent.
