Police oppose extension bid

POLICE have objected to plans by pizza takeaway chain Domino's to open two of its stores later in the evening.

The company wants to open its branches at Nicolson Street and Leith Walk until 3am at the weekend and midnight during the week.

Both applications have attracted police objections.

In a submission to the licensing sub-committee regarding the Nicolson Street application, police said they asked councillors to maintain the shop's existing operating hours.

Councillors will make a final decision on Friday.
