Police officer taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash in Inverness city centre

A policeman was taken to hospital this morning after being involved in a two-vehicle crash in Inverness.

The officer went to Raigmore Hospital for a check over after the Bridge Street collision, which involved a police van and Toyota Hilux, just before 8:10am on Monday.

Police said the male driver of the Toyota was uninjured and that the road at the scene was closed for a short time.

Sergeant Alasdair Mackay, of the Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: "Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to call us on the 101 number, and should quote the reference number 0528 of 18 May, 2020.

"Anyone who may have captured this crash on their dash-can system is also asked to call us on the 101 number."
