Police officer Alison stars in arresting look at rugby role

A LOTHIAN police officer tells how she juggles her demanding job with playing women's rugby at the highest level in a documentary to be screened tonight.

PC Alison Macdonald plays for Royal High Corstorphine Cougars in Edinburgh and has been capped twice for Scotland.

The 26-year-old will feature along with two other rising Scottish sports stars in Cothrom Spors: A Sporting Chance on the Gaelic digital channel BBC Alba.

Alison, from Leith, has her sights set on a place in the Scotland team for the sixth Women's Rugby World Cup this summer.

But she knows there's still much work to be done.

"It would be excellent to be joining the team for that, so that's my goal," she says.

The documentary, made by Mac TV, is being shown at 9pm on the Gaelic digital platform.
