Police name woman found murdered

POLICE last night identified the body of a woman found murdered on waste ground in Airdrie during the weekend.

She was named as Karen Hughes, 24, of Coatbridge. Her body was found by a dog walker on Sunday. Following a post-mortem examination police said they believed Ms Hughes was killed. They are carrying out door-to-door inquiries and examining CCTV footage.
