Mr McCorey was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics after emergency services were called to the accident on a stretch of road near Dunblane.

A Tayside Police spokesman said they had been called to an unclassified access road near Knoxfauld Farm in Kinbuck at about 2:20pm on Wednesday following a report of an industrial accident.

“Officers along with paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service attended in the area and a 31 year-old man was found with serious injuries having been trapped between a road roller and a digger,” he said.

“Despite attempts to revive the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The area was cordoned off to allow inquiries to be made. The Health and Safety Executive was informed and a representative attended at the scene to carry out its own inquiries.

The police spokesman added: “There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator-fiscal.”
