Police name cyclist killed in accident

A CYCLIST who died after suffering a serious head injury when he fell off his bike has been named by police.

Daniel Pace, from Edinburgh, was cycling along an unclassified road from Amulree to Kenmore in Perthshire when he came off his bike and sustained a serious head injury, despite having been wearing a helmet at the time.

The incident took place around 3pm on Saturday.

Paramedics and police from Tayside attended the incident, but the 31-year-old died at the scene a short time later.

Police have confirmed Mr Pace was wearing a cycling helmet.

It is not thought that he collided with anyone, nor were any other vehicles involved in the accident.

Tayside Police said a sudden death report had been submitted to the procurator fiscal in Edinburgh.
