Police miss timing target

LOTHIAN and Borders Police have failed to hit targets for attending emergency incidents in the Capital within ten minutes, new figures have revealed.

Police dealt with 16,995 emergency incidents between April and December last year, with 87 per cent of calls being attended within target times.

The force’s target is 90 per cent for attending emergency calls within the city in ten minutes, and within 20 minutes in rural areas.

The police figures show the average attendance time during the nine-month period was eight minutes and 36 seconds.
