Police make appeal after street attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported being attacked by a man as she walked home from a party.

The 22-year-old woman had been at a party in Gorebridge on Saturday night before leaving to walk home to Mayfield.

At some point between 2.30am and 5.30am, the victim believes she was involved in a struggle with a man, who she fought off before seeking assistance from a man in his 50s at a bus shelter in Gowkshill.
