Residents reported seeing a fire in woods known as Monkey Hill on Saturday night.

Detectives are now attempting to track her movements from the time she left her home to when the blaze was spotted at around 11.20pm.

Officers said the response to an appeal for information made yesterday was slower than expected.

They have set up an email address and a text-only telephone number to encourage people to contact the team leading the inquiry.

Detective Superintendent Derek Robertson said: "Yesterday I said that we would do all we can to catch the person who murdered Zoe. However, we need the help and support of the local community.

"We know from our inquiries everyone is utterly shocked by what has happened.

"The response so far has been slower than we would have liked, so I would really urge people to get in touch.

"We hope that by offering new ways to contact the investigation team, more people will come forward."

The public can contact the inquiry team on ZoeNelsonEnquiry@Strathclyde.pnn.police.uk or by texting 07760 991 282.
