Police keep up the heat

POLICE chiefs are set to spend £67,000 to replace the boiler system at St Leonards police station.

The boiler is expected to be replaced within the next financial year after it was listed among the proposed projects to be funded by the force. A planned upgrade of fire alarms at Lothian and Borders Police buildings is expected to cost another 18,000, while electrical equipment needed for various stations is anticipated to cost a total of 100,000. The force expects to shell out 1.815 million on work to its property during the upcoming year.
