Police investigating death of man in Orkney

POLICE are probing the unexplained death of a man in Orkney.

A body was found within a house on the small island of Flotta on Monday.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: “Enquiries are being carried out to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is currently unexplained.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Details of the man will not be released until formal identification has taken place and all next of kin have been notified.

“No further details are available at present.”

Flotta has a population of around 80 and is home to Orkney’s oil terminal.
