Police investigate suspicious death in Glasgow

POLICE are investigating a suspicious death in Glasgow's east end.

A 49-year-old man was hospitalised but died a short time later at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Officers were responding to a disturbance in Westmuir Street in the Parkhead area at 00.40 after which the street was closed off in both directions.

A post mortem is due to be carried out and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
