Police investigate cause of fatal fire

A WOMAN has died following a fire at a town centre shop.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and police were called to the blaze at 5:45am yesterday in a house above a shop in High Street, Irvine. Police said a 33-year-old woman died at the scene. Officers are investigating the cause of the fire.
