Police hunt youths after assaults

POLICE have launched an investigation after a number of unprovoked assaults took place across Leith on Friday night.

It is understood a number of teenage males undertook to campaign of violence, which officers described as “sporadic”, and police now want information to help them track down the culprits.

The attacks occurred mainly in the Leith Walk and Bellevue Crescent areas.

The force also wants people who may have been assaulted in those areas, but have not come forward, to do so to help improve the picture of the youths’ movements on Friday night and across the rest of the weekend.
