The thieves also made off with a pair of ornate metal gates and concrete paving slabs in the raid at a house situated in the grounds of the Orchardbank Industrial Estate in Forfar.

A spokesman for the Tayside Division of Police Scotland said: “Sometime between 9am on Tuesday 28 May and 11.35am on Thursday 13 June a prefabricated double garage has been dismantled and stolen. The garage is made up of 60 individual sections and would have required a large vehicle or trailer to remove it from the site.

“A pair of 6ft high ornate metal gates and four concrete paving slabs were also taken.”

The spokesman continued: “It’s likely that whoever is responsible for this theft carried out the dismantling of the garage over a period of days. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area.

“Anyone who knows where the stolen garage or gates are now should get in touch with Police Scotland Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer. Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
