Police hunt man who raided Inverness bookmakers

POLICE are hunting a robber who raided a city bookmakers wearing a motorcycle helmet and then made off on a pushbike.

The night-time raid at the Ladbrokes shop on Balloan Road in Inverness saw the robber make off with a four-figure sum.

A Police Scotland spokesman said the man was wearing a motorcycle helmet when he entered the bookmakers at about 9.20pm and demanded money.

He added: “Although shaken the staff member was not injured in this incident.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area or nearby at the material time and may have seen a male wearing a motorcycle helmet whilst riding a pushbike.”

Anyone who has information is asked to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
