Police hunt for stolen Gleneagles air rifles

POLICE were yesterday investigating the theft of nine high-powered air rifles from the grounds of Gleneagles Hotel while the luxury Perthshire venue was hosting the £1.4 million Johnnie Walker golf championship.

The rifles, each worth an estimated 700, were stolen on Saturday from the fishing and shooting lodge at the hotel near Auchterarder.
