Police hunt bag-snatchers

POLICE are hunting bag snatchers who struck in a pair of separate incidents in the same Muirhouse street.

The first incident happened in Pennywell Road around 11:20pm on Monday when a woman who had just left a chip shop noticed a group of youths outside. A male youth from the group then approached her and snatched at her shopping bag.

In the second incident, which also happened in Pennywell Road, a woman was robbed of her handbag by two men who had begun following her as she made her way home just after midnight on Wednesday.
