Strathclyde Police said there is a “considerable risk” that he will re-offend.

There have been no sightings of Travers since Saturday despite an “extensive” search by police and partner agencies.

The force appealed for information which could help trace him.

Detective Superintendent Clark Cuzen said today: “We believe that there is a considerable risk that Mr Travers will re-offend and whilst we do not believe he is a violent man, we would stress that if he is seen, he should not be approached.

“I would appeal to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Motherwell police office on 01698 483003 or your local police office.”

Travers is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, and bald with blue eyes.

When last seen he was wearing white trainers, blue jeans, white top and a dark three-quarter-length jacket.
