POLICE have urged members of the public to continue reporting suspected cannabis operations after another major seizure was made in Aberdeen.

Officers discovered a large drug cultivation operation following a raid in the Logie area of the city.

It is the 32nd cannabis operation discovered by the force since the start of this year.

A 41-year-old man appeared in court in connection with the seizure on Friday. The drugs have an estimated value of up to 210,000.

Sgt David Ferguson of Grampian Police said yesterday that many of the seizures have been possible because of information from members of the public.

He said: "Many of these cultivations are highly dangerous in terms of the use of electricity within the premises.

"The majority of the cultivations detected this year came about as a result of the awareness of members of the public, who have reported suspicious comings and goings or smells emitting from the premises."
