Formal identification has yet to take place but police believe it to be William Higgins, 49, who disappeared from Auctioneers Way in Lanark.

Mr Higgins has been missing from the area since March 25.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.45pm on Tuesday police were called to a report of a body being found at Cartland Crags woodland area, Lanark.
