Police confirm body is of missing Latvian fisherman

A BODY recovered that was recovered from a harbour last month is that of a missing fisherman, police have confirmed.

Viktors Asitkovs, from Latvia, was reported missing to police on 28 January.

Police were called after he went missing following a party in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.

A body was pulled from the town’s harbour on 11 March.

Grampian Police yesterday confirmed that it was that of Mr Asitkovs, who was 52.

His family has been informed of his death.

Police said that there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A report into Mr Asitkov’s death will be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
