Police circle the square

EXTRA police patrols are being carried out in the Nicolson Square area in a bid to clamp down on antisocial behaviour.

The patrols have resulted in several people being arrested on outstanding warrants and put before the court.

Several individuals have also had alcohol seized from them.

A police spokesman said: "There has been a noticeable reduction in the amount of antisocial behaviour."

Bike patrols are being carried out in the St Leonards area to deal with inconsiderate cyclists and road traffic offences.
