Police arrest 30 in raids

POLICE arrested a total of 30 people during a two-day operation against suspected Yardie gangsters selling crack cocaine in the Capital.

As part of Operation Advance, nine more addresses throughout Edinburgh were searched yesterday and 13 people were arrested for various offences.

A quantity of heroin was also recovered following the raids.

Yesterday's raids followed swoops on five addresses in the Leith area on Wednesday

Several thousand pounds worth drugs including crack cocaine and heroin have been seized over the two days.

A police spokesman said: "These raids send the message to those involved in the drugs trade that Edinburgh remains a hostile environment for their illegal activities."
