Her body was recovered from the river after a report was received around 9.45am on Saturday

Police are appealing for help identifying the body of a woman recovered from the River Forth on Saturday morning.

Her body was seen in the water off Society Road in the west area of South Queensferry, and HM Coastguard joined the services to help recover her.

Officers are appealing for help to identify her, and have described her as roughly in her early to mid 30s, 5 foot and 5 inches tall and of slim build with four small tattoos in a cluster on her outer leg above her right ankle consisting of a fire symbol and a symbol similar to multiple apostrophes in a circle.

She was wearing two necklaces, both of which were made of a thread like material, one was orangey red and the other was green, with one decorated with small silver stars and the other with green gemstones.

Her hair was dark and shoulder length which was dyed red.

Anybody who may be able to help is urged to call the police on 101 quoting incident number 1128 of June 13, 2020.

The woman’s death is being treated as unexplained, and a report is being submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
