A force spokesman said officers were concerned for the wellbeing of Brian Martin, 30, who was last seen at the home of a family member in Wentworth Drive in Dundee at about 10.45pm on Thursday, 9 January.

The spokesman said: “Brian is known to sleep rough and travel throughout Scotland picking up farm work, most recently in the Inverness area. Despite his choice of lifestyle, Brian would always keep in regular contact with his family.

“However, for no family members to have heard from him in the last week is out of character for Brian.”

Mr Martin is described as 5ft 7 tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and has green eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey tammy with a badge on the front, a grey, blue, red and white lumberjack style hat with ear flaps, a red, grey and black waist length jacket, blue jeans and grey trainers.

The spokesman said: “Anyone who has seen Brian since 9 January 2014, or anyone who knows his current whereabouts, should get in touch with Police Scotland Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer. “
