Police appeal over attack on disabled man

TWO cyclists and an elderly woman who may have witnessed a violent assault on a wheelchair user in Oxgangs have been urged to contact police.

A 44-year-old disabled man was repeatedly punched by two men and robbed of personal items around 9:40am last Saturday on Oxgangs Drive.

His attackers fled towards Firhill Drive.

One of the robbers was around 6ft, of medium build with blond hair and was wearing black jeans and a blue T-shirt.

The other was around 5ft 10in, of slim build with short dark hair and wearing jeans and a grey hoodie.

Police believe the elderly woman, who was walking in the area, and the two passing cyclists may have seen the attack.

A police spokesman added: "Anyone who recognises the suspects or who has information to assist with our investigation is also asked to come forward."
