Police appeal as man crashes into tree near Errol

AN APPEAL for information has been launched after a 22-year-old man was seriously injured when his car crashed into a tree in Tayside.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to release the driver following the crash last night on an unclassified road near Errol in Perthshire.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “About 6pm last night a red coloured Nissan Micra motor car collided with a tree. As a result of the collision the male driver of the vehicle was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries.”

He added: “Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer.”

Two ambulances, a trauma team and two fire appliances were called to the scene of the crash near Mains of Errol Farm.
