The man is described as white, in his 50s, and slim with grey hair wearing a long black anorak.

The men who assisted the woman are described only as being in their late 20s or early 30s.

Detective Constable Ashley Convery, Drumchapel CID, said: “This was a very upsetting experience for the young woman who was heading home. She is very distressed by what happened and indeed it took a few days before she could come to police to say what happened.

“I am very keen to speak to the three men who came to her aid as I am sure it is because of them that this attack didn’t escalate and also they will have information that will assist us greatly in catching the man responsible.”

Any information about the attack can be passed to detectives at Drumchapel CID via 101, quoting reference number 2639/24/01/18 when calling.

Details about the incident can be given in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
