Police appeal after street stabbing

Police have launched an attempted murder inquiry after a man was stabbed in the street.

The 28-year-old who suffered "puncture wounds" to his upper body, which were not life-threatening, was admitted to hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack in Fisher's Wynd, Musselburgh, at 9:45pm on Saturday, 5 February. Lothian and Borders Police said the man was with friends when a row broke out with another man and woman who were not part of the group.

They are keen to trace a woman seen in the area at the time.

She is white, in her mid-20s, 5ft 9ins, with straight, black shoulder-length hair.
