Police appeal after smash

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a car crash which seriously injured a man and woman.

The 18-year-old man and his 21-year-old passenger were driving west along Lanark Road in a silver Peugeot 307, near the junction of Kingsknowe Drive, at 3.25am on Sunday when the car left the road, striking a lamppost and tree. The man suffered abdominal injuries, while the woman sustained facial injuries.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the Peugeot prior to the collision to get in touch."
