Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area between 3am and 4am that day.

And they are seeking information about a light-coloured estate-type vehicle which was in the area at the time.

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: “I would appeal for anyone who may have been in the area at that time and saw anything that they think may have been suspicious or saw a similar vehicle in the Torry area of Aberdeen in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact police as a priority.

“We are at the early stages of our inquiries, however I would urge anyone with information about this incident to get in touch.

Police can be contacted on 101 while Crimestoppers is on 0800 555111.
