Police in anti-abuse drive

POLICE have visited more than 60 addresses in the Lothians to enforce bail conditions against people accused of domestic violence.

The operation was carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday in East Lothian and Midlothian as part of an ongoing anti-domestic violence campaign.

During the two days, a 21-year-old man from Midlothian was arrested and charged for breaching his probation order, and a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with an alleged domestic assault that happened at a property in East Lothian on Monday.

Detective Inspector Kenny Gray said: "The two days of enforcement action demonstrates our commitment towards enforcing legislation around domestic violence, and more enforcement activity is planned in the weeks ahead."
