TWO new community groups are looking for their first members to help get them off the ground.

Nominations are to open next week for community councils that will cover the Grange/Prestonfield and Craigleith/Blackhall areas. Elections will be held on October 11 if there are more candidate nominations than places available.

Councillor Tom Buchanan, city economic development leader, said: "As a council we're committed to working in partnership with local communities and community councils play an important part in that process.

"They are also an integral part of the new neighbourhood partnership arrangements, which have been established across the city. I would encourage people to take the time to get involved."
