Plan to review teacher report

Plans to review an agreement on teacher employment which was reached a decade ago have been announced by Education Secretary Michael Russell.

Professor Gerry McCormac, principal of the University of Stirling, will examine the 2001 McCrone report as part of an agreement between councils body Cosla and the Scottish Government. Amongst others, he will be joined by new city council chief executive, Sue Bruce.

Mr Russell said: "The time is right for a fundamental review of the changes the McCrone inquiry has engineered.
