Plan ahead with new seminar

AN INTERACTIVE seminar is to be held to encourage people to get involved with the planning system in the light of controversial proposals for a biomass plant at Leith Docks.

The session on 5 June has been arranged by charity Planning Aid for Scotland at the City Chambers. Participants will learn about planning procedures, the issues surrounding the biomass proposal and how it differs from a typical planning application.

PAS chief executive Petra Biberbach said: "Planning is often seen as controversial and negative but the key to influencing things is to get involved as early as possible.

"This training event is all about establishing a dialogue between developers and communities."
