Aili Si posted a photo of the receipt on the firm’s Facebook page on Sunday, saying she had bene ‘insulted’ by the description.

She wrote: “I don’t think it is nice for your staff to describe me as such on my receipt.”

The receipt had a handwritten note on the bottom, apparently identifying her as she waited for her order.

“As a customer I definitely hope to be treated with basic respect deserved by any others. I hope to receive an apology from the staff and Pizza Hut.

“What’s wrong with being plus size?”

Pizza Hut issued a statement apologising ‘unreservedly’ for the note, adding that it had launched an investigation into the incident.

“This incident goes against our corporate values and we do not condone behaviour or actions that offend people.

“We deeply regret that such an incident has occurred and are attempting to contact Ms Si to personally express our sincere apologies.

“We will take corrective measures to continuously improve our standards and consistency in our service and hospitality.”

Ms Si was inundated with messages of support from fellow Facebook users, with one suggesting she should be given a ‘lifetime’s supply of free pizzas’ and another pointing out that the staff could have described her as ‘lady in pink.’
