Pitch battle to save match

A FOOTBALL match in a stadium built amidst a forest is under threat after heavy rain.

Organisers will today carry out a pitch inspection ahead of Saturday’s Forest Pitch event, a project combining sport and art, near Selkirk.

The News yesterday told how Capital artist Craig Coulthard had spent two years developing the pitch along with stands and changing rooms.

He said: “We are still working hard in the hope the pitch can be ready for Saturday.”
