Pipe band veterans want to
hear from potential recruits

A PIPE band which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year is appealing for musicians.

The Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band & Dancers, formed in 1972, has one original founder member and a number with more than 30 years of service.

The band plays events in and around Edinburgh, and regularly performs at civic receptions and Post Office functions.

Mike Lindsay, band secretary and drum major, said: “The aim of the Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band & Dancers is to
promote the art of Highland piping, pipe band drumming and Scottish country dancing in a safe and friendly
environment.

“The Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band is a non-competitive band and because of this we provide an ideal, relaxed environment where you can play or learn.

“We have all grades of musicians, from world champions to beginners, who come along to enjoy our unique atmosphere.

“We are currently seeking new members to join our ranks of pipers, drummers and Scottish country dancers.”
